Missing People: Out of Sight, Out of Mind?
Justice Itikhar Mohammad Chaudhry has been reinstated at a time when there is no dearth of issues confronting the country, naturally hopes and expectations are high. The case of missing people of Pakistan has been unaddressed since Chaudhry was deposed. What justice are the families of these innumerable missing people, including over a hundred women, to expect? Will the state take responsibility and ownership of the security it’s citizens, are circumstances in Balochistan (a province with the highest number of missing individuals) dependant on the status of these missing people, what image and reputation does this phenomenon give to Pakistan and what message are the citizens of Pakistan to take home? Currently, all these questions remain unanswered. Together, Meher Bokhari, Dr. Arifa Syeda and Barrister Iqbal Jaffery discuss and analyse this disturbing reality.
Apology
Salam Everyone, firstly I would like to apologize for not being able to post writeups of shows and uploading programs since the last 2 weeks. I have received a lot of complaints regarding the same and believe me there is no other reason but the fact that I have been swamped with work! That is still no excuse but never the less it is true. I am going to Syria for a few days and rest assured as soon as I return I will upload all the missing shows inshAllah. Please bear with me as I love hearing from you all and would hate to upset you further!
Cheers,
Meher Bokhari
